Uttarakhand: Cloudburst causes devastation in Rudraprayag, Minister Saurabh Bahuguna arrives to inspect affected villages

Cabinet Minister and Minister in charge of Rudraprayag district Saurabh Bahuguna on Saturday conducted a field inspection of the villages affected by cloudburst in Nyaya Panchayat Syur area under Block Jakholi of Tehsil Basukedar. The minister said that in this hour of disaster, the government is standing with every affected family with sensitivity.
Negligence will not be tolerated: Minister
During the field visit, the minister took stock of the relief and rescue operations. Bahuguna directed the officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected families immediately. He clearly said that rehabilitation and relief work should be expedited on priority basis and negligence will not be tolerated at any level.
Safe rehabilitation of affected families is the priority of the government
Saurabh Bahuguna said that the biggest priority of the state government is the safe rehabilitation of disaster-affected families. Appreciating the readiness of the administration and disaster management team, he said that with the sensitivity and collective efforts of the government, the affected areas will soon be returned to normal life.
18 to 20 people missing in the disaster
Let us tell you that cloudburst on 29th August in Rudraprayag has caused heavy damage in many places including Chenagad, Bandar of Jakholi block. While in Tendwal village a woman died after being buried under debris. At the same time 18 to 20 people are reported to be missing. Rescue operation is going on to search for them.
