The Shanghai Summit is being held in Tianjin, China. Today, September 1, 2025 is its second day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attended this summit from India’s side. A bilateral meeting was held between the Chinese President (Xi Jinping) and PM Modi yesterday. In which many important issues were discussed. Which included issues like peace on the border, direct flights between the two countries, trade, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra etc. Meanwhile, PM Modi surrounded Pakistan from the SCO platform.

PM Modi SCO Summit: Turned every challenge into an opportunity

At the SCO Summit, PM Modi said, “Today India is moving forward on the mantra of reform, perform and transform. We have tried to turn every challenge into an opportunity. I invite all of you to be a part of India’s development journey.”

SCO is evolving with time – Modi

PM Modi further said that ‘SCO is evolving with time to meet the changing needs. Which is a matter of happiness. Four new centres are being set up to tackle challenges like organised crime, drug trafficking, cyber security etc. We welcome this reform-oriented thinking.

Terrorism is a challenge for the entire humanity

PM Modi said that ‘the development of any country depends on security, peace and stability. But terrorism, separatism and extremism are big challenges. Terrorism is a challenge not only for the security of the country but also for the entire humanity. No one can consider themselves safe from it.

Be it a country, a society or a citizen. That is why India has always stressed on unity in the fight against terrorism. India took the initiative to fight Al-Qaeda and terrorist organisations associated with it by leading a joint information campaign. India raised its voice against the financing of terrorism. Modi expressed gratitude for the support received for this.

Saw the ugly face of terrorism in Pahalgam

Referring to Pahalgam in the SCO Summit, PM Modi said that India is facing the brunt of terrorism. Mothers lost their children. Many children became orphans. Recently we saw a very disgusting form of terrorism in Pahalgam. In this grief, the PM expressed his gratitude to those countries who stood with the country.

He further said that this attack was not only on India but on every country and person who believes in humanity. This raises the question whether open support of terrorism by some countries can be accepted. Everyone has to say clearly and in one voice that we will not accept any double standard on terrorism. It has to be opposed in every color and form. This is our duty towards humanity.
