The weather is wreaking havoc in Uttarakhand these days. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain for five districts of the state. Due to bad weather, the district administration has temporarily postponed the pilgrimage from September 1 to September 3.

Kedarnath Yatra postponed till September 3

The series of continuous rains continues in Rudraprayag district. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain for the next three days. In view of which, the district administration has decided to temporarily postpone the Kedarnath Yatra till September 3. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and facilities of the passengers.

DM gave instructions to the concerned departments to remain alert

DM Prateek Jain has instructed all the concerned departments to remain alert and make necessary preparations. At the same time, Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana has informed that the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in the area for the next three days. The administration has clarified that this decision has been taken entirely from the point of view of the safety of the passengers.

Instructions given to passengers to stay at safe places

Rudraprayag District Magistrate Prateek Jain has appealed to the passengers coming to Kedarnath dham to postpone their journey for the time being (Kedarnath Yatra postponed) and stay safe in their homes. The DM said that the passengers who are already on the journey have been requested to stay at safe places and follow the guidelines issued by the administration.

Let us tell you that a major road accident (Rudraprayag accident) took place in Rudraprayag on Monday morning. Stones fell from the hill on the Bolero going from Sonprayag to Gaurikund. In which two passengers died tragically. While three passengers are injured. Out of which the condition of two remains critical. It is being told that all the passengers were going to visit Kedarnath Dham.
