Due to the river, there was erosion on the agricultural land there, now cracks have appeared in the courtyards of about five to six buildings. Due to this, an atmosphere of fear has been created among the villagers.
Kundan Gusain, Satyadev Panwar, Natthi Gusain and Kapil Panwar of Silyan village told that one and a half years ago the Public Works Department had started the cutting work for the construction of Silyan Nirakot motor road. At that time, after the department carried out indiscriminate cutting without any technical investigation, land subsidence started from last year below the village. After that, on complaining to the administration, some nets were installed, but they did not help.
The problem of land subsidence has become serious: The villagers allege that during the cutting of the mountains, the hill was eroded from below a water source. Due to this, the problem of land subsidence has become serious this year. More than ten buildings and courtyards of the village have developed cracks. At the same time, three buildings and Anganwadi are in danger that they can collapse anytime due to heavy rains and land subsidence.
The existence of the village is in danger: The villagers say that last year the administration had assured to conduct a geological survey and keep the village safe. But no action was taken and today the existence of the village is in danger. At the same time, the administration team is saying that leave your house and take shelter in the building of the Inter College in the district headquarters, which is about four km away from there.

If landslide and land subsidence happen simultaneously, then it will pose a threat to the village as well as the Tiloth ward of the city area situated below. In this regard, Revenue Sub-Inspector Arvind Panwar said that the Revenue and PWD team has done a field inspection of the village on Sunday morning. Many houses have developed cracks there. Three to four buildings have become more dangerous. They have been asked to shift to the school of the district headquarters for safety. At the same time, a demand for geological investigation is being made by submitting a report to the administration.
Erosion in the fields of Kyaark village: On the other hand, Vipin Rana, Sanjay Singh, Harban Singh, Sajjan Singh and Darman Singh of Kyaark village of Bhatwadi block said that due to the rise in the Papadgad a few days ago, heavy debris and boulders also came flowing with it. Along with this, due to the rising waters of Papadgad, the fields of Kyaark village have been damaged due to erosion. At the same time, cracks have appeared in the courtyards of about five to six houses.
Demand for displacement of the village: The villagers say that if the erosion by the river continues in this manner, then it can become a big threat to the existence of the village. During the disaster in the year 2012-13, geologists had talked about displacement of the village, but no action has been taken since then. More than 65 families live in the village. They have demanded protective works for the village from the government and administration.
