Semicon India 2025: Self-reliant India!, first Made in India chip launched, gifted to PM Modi

India has taken a historic step in the semiconductor sector. The first Made in India 32-bit microprocessor “Vikram” made for space mission has been launched. This chip was introduced at the Semicon India 2025 conference. Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented this processor to PM Modi. Along with this, test chips of four approved projects were also presented.

This processor has been prepared in ISRO’s Semiconductor Laboratory. This processor will help in the harsh conditions of spacecraft and launch vehicles. According to Union Minister Vaishnav, this achievement is a big success for India. The country is working on dependence on foreign chips. This is considered to be the first big step towards technological self-reliance.

Gift given to PM Modi

Further, the Union Minister said that the construction work of five semiconductor units is going on. Out of which one pilot line has been completed. Production of two more units will be started in the coming months. Along with this, the design process of five new units is going on. All the global partners for chip manufacturing are present in India. Vaishnav said that today the first ‘Made-in-India’ chip has been gifted to PM Modi.
