Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of primary health centers located at Jhandichaur and Kalalghati in Kotdwar assembly constituency.
MLA got angry on complaint of ordering medicines from outside
The MLA inspected Jhandichaur health center and checked the health related arrangements, cleanliness and attendance register of the employees. During the inspection, it was found that instead of giving medicines from the health center, the doctors are advising the patients to get medicines from outside medical shops. On this, the MLA got angry and reprimanded the concerned doctors expressing displeasure.
Explanation should be sought from absent employees: CMO
The MLA directed that essential medicines should be made available to the patients free of cost from the health center itself. The MLA said that negligence in health facilities will not be tolerated. Providing basic facilities to the public is her first priority. Khanduri also checked the attendance of the employees and in the case of absent employees, he immediately called the Chief CMO and directed to seek clarification on their absence.

After inspecting Jhandichaur Health Center, MLA reached for inspection of Kalalghati Primary Health Center. Let us tell you that a 32-bed state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has been constructed by HSCL in this center, which has been prepared at a cost of Rs 3 crore from the Covid Relief Fund. This unit will soon be started for the general public, which will significantly improve the health facilities of the area.
