Orange and yellow alert for rain in Uttarakhand today, school holiday in many districts

There is no relief from the rain in Uttarakhand yet. Rain in the hilly districts has increased dozens of problems of the people. Life in rural areas has become chaotic. Due to rain, incidents of landslides are happening continuously. Due to which roads from highways to motorways are getting closed again and again. At the same time, rivers and streams are also in spate due to rain. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has again issued a rain alert in some districts of the state. In such a situation, orders for holiday of schools have also been issued by the district administrations.
The Meteorological Center Dehradun has expressed the possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Bageshwar districts of the state. Along with this, an orange alert has been issued in these districts.
At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Pauri Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal, Chamoli, Pithoragarh districts. While there is a possibility of lightning with thunder in some places in the remaining hilly districts of the state. There is also a possibility of lightning with thunder in some areas of Haridwar district. Yellow alert has been issued for these districts.
School holiday in these districts: According to the Meteorological Center, Dehradun, heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in Chamoli and Nainital, Champawat districts. In view of this, the district administration has declared a holiday in all schools and Anganwadi centers from class 1 to 12 on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Alert to people living on the river bank: At the same time, due to continuous rain in the mountains, the water level of rivers in the plains has increased significantly. Due to this, people living on the banks of rivers are being alerted. The police administration is constantly appealing to the passengers bathing at the Ganga Ghats adjacent to Muni Ki Reti and Dhalwala in Tehri Garhwal to keep a distance from the river Ganga.
CM Dhami took stock: At the same time, CM Dhami today conducted a field inspection of the areas affected by waterlogging and soil erosion due to heavy rains in Laksar area of Haridwar district, he reached the waterlogged areas through tractor and took stock of the situation. He reached the waterlogged area in Laksar area by motor boat and met the villagers and assured them of all possible help.
