A shocking incident has come to light from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, which shook everyone. An online love that started on Instagram eventually turned into murder. A 52-year-old woman named Rani fell in love with a 26-year-old young man Arun Rajput, half her age. Their relationship lasted for about one and a half years, but the social media filter that laid the foundation of this relationship by hiding Rani’s age, ultimately became the reason for her death.

Rani, a resident of Farrukhabad, was a mother of four children. While developing a friendship with Arun on Instagram, she took the help of filters and hid her real age. Gradually, chatting, phone calls and meetings deepened their relationship. Meanwhile, money transactions also started and Rani gave about one and a half lakh rupees to Arun.
Pressure was put on her for marriage and return of money
According to the police, with the passage of time, Rani started insisting on marrying Arun and pressuring him for return of the money given to her. Troubled by this, Arun called Rani to Mainpuri on August 10. Both of them met in the bushes of Kharpari Bamba area. There Rani once again raised the issue of marriage and return of money and even threatened to complain to the police. In anger and fear, Arun strangled Rani to death with her dupatta and fled from the spot.
Mystery of blind murder case solved
Initially, this case was a blind murder for the police. After the body of an unknown woman was found in Mainpuri Kotwali area, the police started investigation. It became clear in the postmortem that the woman was strangled to death. After identification, it was found that the body belonged to Rani, a resident of Farrukhabad.
Lover arrested
According to SP City Arun Kumar Singh, three teams were formed considering the seriousness of the case. Mobile call details were scrutinized and as the investigation progressed, the police reached Arun. After his arrest, he confessed the whole truth. The police also recovered Rani’s mobile phone and her belongings. At present, the accused has been sent to jail and further action is underway.
