In a program organized at the Shaheed Smarak in Mussoorie on Tuesday, the CM has said that the state government is working with determination to create the Uttarakhand of the dreams of the state agitators. Paying tribute to the agitators Balbir Singh Negi, Belmati Chauhan, Hansa Dhanai, Dhanpat Singh, Rai Singh Bangari and Madan Mohan Mamgai, who were martyred in Mussoorie during the Uttarakhand state movement, the CM said that the state agitators have made their unique contribution in the creation of Uttarakhand by putting their present at stake for our better future.
The Mussoorie firing incident was a symbol of the oppressive attitude of the ruling parties
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the day of 2 September 1994 will remain marked as a black chapter in the history of the state. On this day, the agitators who were peacefully demonstrating at Veerbhumi in Mussoorie had to face police bullets. This incident was a symbol of the repressive attitude of the ruling parties of the time, who tried to crush a peaceful movement mercilessly.
CM listed the achievements
The CM said that the government has implemented 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for them and their dependents, expressing its gratitude towards the state agitators. Along with this, a monthly pension facility of Rs 3 thousand has also been started for the families of the agitators. The CM said that the injured and jailed agitators are being given a pension of Rs 6 thousand and active agitators are being given Rs 4500 per month.
More than 100 copy mafias sent to jail
The CM said that the dream of the agitators was to create such a Uttarakhand where our culture, language and traditions are preserved. For this purpose, the government has implemented UCC and ensured equal rights and duties for all citizens in the state. At the same time, to provide equal employment opportunities with transparency to the youth of the state, the country’s most effective anti-copying law was implemented and more than 100 copying mafias were sent to jail. After this, more than 25 thousand youths in Uttarakhand have succeeded in getting government jobs.
Work being done to save demography
The CM said that the government is working with full commitment to save the demography of Uttarakhand. For this, while on the one hand a strict anti-conversion law was implemented in the state, more than 9 thousand acres of government land has been freed from encroachment. Along with this, the government has also made a strict anti-riot law to teach a lesson to the rioters and has also made them compensate for the losses caused in the riots.
More than 250 illegal madrasas closed
The CM said that recently the government has decided to abolish the Madrasa Board in the state by implementing a new law. After the implementation of this law, after July 1, 2026, only those madrasas will be able to operate in Uttarakhand, in which the curriculum prescribed by the government board will be taught. More than 250 madrasas operating illegally in the state have also been closed. The government is also taking strict action against the hypocrites defaming Sanatan culture in the state through ‘Operation Kalanemi’.
Siphon Court issue will be resolved soon: CM
Chief Minister Dhami talked about building Garhwal Sabha Bhawan soon and resolving the Siphon Court issue soon. Apart from this, he also assured quick action on other demands including the announcement of a vendor zone in Mussoorie. The CM said that the state government will also celebrate the birth centenary of late Indramani Badoni, the prominent face of the Uttarakhand movement, in a grand manner.
