The natural disaster in Uttarakhand has caused heavy losses to the state. According to the assessment so far, the state has suffered a loss of more than Rs 5700 crore. In such a situation, the Dhami government has prepared a report of the loss and sent it to the Home Ministry, demanding an economic package.
Huge loss in Uttarakhand due to disaster
The roads have been damaged due to the disaster. Due to which the Public Works Department (PWD) has suffered the most damage. The damage to its assets has been estimated at Rs 1164 crore. At the same time, heavy losses have also been recorded in other departments. In which:-
- Irrigation Department – 266.65 crores
- Energy Department – 123.17 crores
- Health Department – 4.57 crores
- School Education Department – 68.28 crores
- Higher Education Department – 9.04 crores
- Fisheries Department – 2.55 crores
- Rural Development Department – 65.50 crores
- Urban Development Department – 4 crores
- Animal Husbandry Department – 23.06 crores
- Other departmental assets – 213.46 crores
Dhami government demanded financial package of so many crores
In this way, all the government departments have suffered a direct loss of about Rs 1944.15 crores. Rs 1944.15 crore was demanded for the reconstruction of these assets.
