A case of illegal recovery and exploitation of contract workers has come to light in an auto electronic factory in Raipur, Dehradun. Here, contract workers have accused a private company of illegal recovery and exploitation. In such a situation, today the officials of INTUC met the administrative officer of Opto Electronic Factory Raipur, Awadhesh Kumar Yadav and expressed anger against the exploitation of contract labor workers.

Exploitation of workers in Raipur, Dehradun!

The workers alleged that the manager of the private company was extorting 4 to 5 thousand rupees from them every month. Not only this, they were also misbehaved and abused at the workplace. On protesting, they were threatened with dismissal from the job and filing false cases.

Workers boycotted

Against this, all the contract laborers gathered at the main gate of Opto Electronic Factory Raipur Dehradun with the intention of boycotting the work this morning. But they were also stopped from protesting by the officials of Opto Electronic Factory. As soon as the officials of Uttarakhand INTUC reached there, the morale of the contract workers increased.

Assurance of action after INTUC’s intervention

After a long discussion with senior manager and administrative officer Awadhesh Kumar Yadav by INTUC officials, he assured to blacklist the private company making illegal collection and take appropriate legal action.

He also said that until the contract is signed with the new company, the factory will directly pay the contract labourer’s salary every month in their account. The three-member delegation included Uttarakhand INTUC district president Anil Kumar, secretary Dev Singh Panwar and youth INTUC state president Pankaj Chhetri.
