Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital on Saturday evening and thoroughly reviewed the healthcare services, quality of treatment, and facilities available at the hospital.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister met with various patients undergoing treatment, inquired about their health, and inquired about the medical facilities being provided by the hospital. Through his interactions with patients and their families, the Chief Minister firsthand understood the quality of medical services and provided necessary instructions.

In an effort to improve healthcare services in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital today, issued clear instructions to provide adequate facilities for attendants in the waiting area located on the hospital campus.

While inspecting the hospital’s waiting room, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure adequate and well-organized arrangements for drinking water, fans, and seating to ensure a comfortable environment for attendants accompanying patients. He said that attendants are an important part of the hospital system and should be provided with basic amenities to ensure their mental well-being.

The Chief Minister also directed that cleanliness, regular sanitization, and painting of the hospital premises be ensured immediately. He stated that a hospital is not only a place of treatment but also a place to provide mental and physical support to patients and their families, therefore, cleanliness, beautification, and orderliness are essential.

He told the medical officers that the convenience and respect of patients as well as their families are a priority for the state government. He emphasized that every possible step is being taken to ensure that the public receives better services in government hospitals.

The Chief Minister also visited the Blood Sample Collection Center

Chief Minister Dhami also visited the Blood Sample Collection Center, where he received information from the operator working at the center regarding the sample collection process, their recording, and laboratory testing. He commended the efficiency of the technology and resources used at the center and directed for continuous monitoring.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the hospital administration, medical officers, and staff that providing timely and quality treatment to patients should be the top priority. He stated that the state government is committed to further strengthening health services and is providing all necessary resources for this purpose.

The Chief Minister also directed that transparency, sensitivity, and prompt service delivery should be ensured in health services so that the general public can directly benefit from it.

During his inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also inspected the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk set up on the hospital campus.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister obtained information from the staff deployed at the help desk regarding the scheme’s functioning, assistance provided to beneficiaries, the card-making process, the status of patient claims, and the facilities being provided to the public. He also interacted with the beneficiaries present on the spot, heard their experiences, and inquired about the help desk’s efficiency.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the benefits of the Atal Ayushman Yojana reach every eligible person. He said that everyone visiting the help desk should receive simple, clear, and quick information, so that they do not face any inconvenience in joining the scheme and availing the benefits.

Chief Minister Dhami also said that this ambitious scheme of the state government is like a lifeline for poor and needy patients, and all concerned departments must remain vigilant and active for its effective implementation.

Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, Medical Superintendent, senior doctors, administrative officers, and other officials of the Health Department were present during the inspection.
