Russia attacks Ukraine

The military bombarded the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia with rockets overnight, injuring 13 people, including two children. Officials reported the attack on Tuesday. Amid a series of attacks from Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged European leaders to develop an ambitious air defense system to secure the continent.

“Strong actions and decisions are needed”

Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram that in the past two weeks, Russia has fired more than 3,500 drones, more than 2,500 powerful glide bombs, and nearly 200 missiles at targets inside Ukraine. He said, “The time has come for us to jointly protect our European skies with a multi-layered air defense system. All the technologies are available for this.” President Zelensky added, “We need investment and will, we need strong actions and decisions from all our partners.”

Russia has continued to carry out attacks

Regional head Ivan Fedorov reported on national television that Russian bombing in Zaporizhzhia hit more than 20 apartment buildings, causing fires. “We haven’t yet recovered from the enemy attacks on August 30th. We are currently repairing those buildings and windows, but now the enemy has added more work to our municipal workers,” Fedorov said.
