In a unique move, Albania introduced an AI minister to Parliament for the first time. This AI minister also delivered her first speech in Parliament. Prime Minister Edi Rama presented this AI robot as a testament to his government’s commitment.

This AI minister’s name is Diala (AI minister diala), which means sun in Albanian. This AI minister is depicted as a woman wearing traditional Albanian attire. Officials believe this will help combat corruption in public spending. However, opposition MPs claimed this is a way to conceal government corruption.
AI Minister Speech in Parliament
It should be noted that Diela was developed in collaboration with Microsoft earlier this year. It is already operational on the e-Albania online service platform. The world’s first AI minister also delivered a speech in Parliament. Addressing lawmakers, she said, “The Constitution speaks of institutions serving the public. It does not speak of chromosomes, flesh, or blood.”

The robot further said, “I am not here to replace people, but to help them. It is true that I do not have any citizenship, but I also do not have any personal ambitions or interests.”
