Uttarakhand Chamoli Cloudburst: Rescue operation underway…bodies of two people recovered, search continues for seven

A cloudburst on the Binsar hilltop in Chamoli’s Nandanagar area late Wednesday night caused massive devastation. Ten people were reported missing. So far, the bodies of two people have been recovered, while the search for seven others is ongoing. Rescue teams pulled one person from the debris after approximately 16 hours. Ten houses were also completely destroyed in the disaster.

Eight people, including a husband, wife, and two children from the same family in Kuntri village, went missing in the disaster. Two elderly people are also missing from Dhurma village. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of two people from the debris. The search for the missing remains ongoing. All possible assistance is being provided to the affected people.
