Robots, paratroopers, and explosions… Israel launches a rapid attack on Gaza City, with the army advancing with tanks, leaving only 400,000 people alive.

Israel launches a rapid attack on Gaza City
Israel announced a ground offensive in Gaza City on Monday. Israel has now launched a ground operation, wreaking havoc across the Gaza Strip. Gaza City, located in the northern Gaza Strip, where the Israeli operation is currently underway, was already under blockade and attack. Since March, Gaza City’s 800,000 civilians have been living under bombardment and starvation. While Israel and the US have jointly operated relief centers in southern Gaza, where approximately 2,000 Palestinians have been killed, such facilities have not yet been established in northern Gaza. Furthermore, since the Israeli offensive intensified after August 11, more than 3,500 people have been killed in Gaza.
An Israeli army colonel told Middle East Eye that “the operation was conducted at a low level, but the operations never stopped.” He added that attacks on Gaza City had been ongoing for several months even before the recent ground offensive. According to UN data, at least 2,000 people were killed in Israeli attacks in March, April, and June. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 3,500 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since August 11, when Israel intensified its attacks in anticipation of a ground offensive.
How is Israel wreaking havoc in Gaza?
Israel has launched Operation Gideon Chariots II in the Gaza Strip, aimed at securing the release of hostages held by Hamas. However, Israeli officials have admitted they lack accurate information about Hamas or the hostages. Even after months of low-intensity attacks and intelligence operations, identifying the exact targets has been difficult. But one thing is clear: the primary objective of the operation is not only to target Hamas fighters, but also to drive civilians south. The Israeli army is using more than 180 explosive robots and remote-controlled vehicles, causing massive devastation in areas such as Tell al-Hawa, Sheikh Ridwan, Tuffah, Jabal Najla, and Softawi Street. More than 200 residential buildings have been destroyed in these areas.
According to a report by Middle East Eye, Israeli armored vehicles and paratrooper divisions have been ordered to advance into Gaza City. The Israeli Army’s 162nd and 98th Paratrooper Divisions are entering Gaza City with tanks and armored vehicles. According to reports, no significant resistance has been encountered from Hamas so far. Israeli officials believe that most of the residents in Gaza City are Hamas supporters. There are now approximately 400,000 civilians left in the city, whom the army has targeted. Once these people leave, all of northern Gaza will be evacuated. Israel has used more than 180 bomb trap robots and explosives to destroy the city. Tel al-Hawa, Sheikh Ridwan, Tuffah, Jabal Nazla and the Saftawi Street area are among the major locations where Israel has demolished civilian buildings.
