Uttarakhand: CBI issues notice to Harish Rawat in sting operation case, Harda says it seems elections are near

Uttarakhand politics has heated up once again. The CBI has issued a notice to former Chief Minister Harish Rawat in connection with the highly controversial 2016 sting operation. The CBI has ordered Rawat to appear at its headquarters in Delhi next month, October.
Harda Takes a Sharp Jab at the Government and the CBI
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat responded to the notice with a sharp remark. He stated that as the 2027 elections draw near, the central government is increasingly remembering the CBI. He called it a political conspiracy.
After a long time, my friends at the CBI have remembered me: Harda
Harda posted on social media, writing, “Today, after a long time, my friends at the CBI have remembered me again. This suggests that the assembly elections are coming up again, and the BJP friends, in whose hands the CBI has completely compromised its independence and autonomy, have deemed me worthy of election.”
Harda further adds, “Here I am saying that now it’s not me, but others will come forward. But it seems that those in the Indian government still believe that I can influence the election results, so I am accepting this notice with thanks.”
“But with the request that I am not in a position to travel until September, if you give me some time in the second or third week of October, I will be happy to appear at the CBI headquarters to record my statement or for whatever they are calling me for.”
Harda was accused of horse-trading of MLAs
It is noteworthy that in a 2016 sting operation, Harish Rawat was accused of horse-trading of MLAs. At that time, this matter created an earthquake in Uttarakhand politics. After the video surfaced, the opposition left no stone unturned in cornering the then government. The CBI is investigating the entire matter and has now once again issued a notice to Harish Rawat and summoned him.
