Uttarakhand: New GST rates will be implemented from September 22, CM gave instructions to run awareness campaign

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted virtually with state ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives on Sunday. He announced that the new GST rates will be implemented nationwide from September 22nd.

Instructed to launch an awareness campaign until September 29th
CM Dhami stated that a comprehensive public awareness campaign will be launched in the state to expedite the dissemination of the benefits of the new rates to the general public and the business community. He urged all public representatives to conduct awareness programs in their respective areas from September 22nd to 29th. During this period, ministers in charge will lead the campaign in their respective districts, and MLAs in their respective assembly constituencies.

New GST rates will strengthen the state’s economy: CM
The CM stated that the new GST rates will strengthen the state’s economy and contribute to the “Vocal for Local” and “Local to Global” initiatives. He stated that Uttarakhand’s umbrella brand “House of Himalayas,” 27 GI-tagged products, and the “One District, Two Products” scheme will receive a boost from the new rates. This will increase self-employment opportunities and realize the dream of a self-reliant Uttarakhand.

Instructions given to organize meetings at the municipal level
The CM directed all departments and bodies to make continuous efforts to make the campaign a success. Meetings should be held at the village council and municipal level to provide detailed information to the public. The Industry Department was also asked to further strengthen and market-oriented GI-tagged products and the “One District, Two Products” scheme.
