Uttarakhand: Meeting regarding redevelopment of slums in the state, instructions given to officials to conduct a re-survey of the slums.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday regarding the redevelopment of slums in the state. The Chief Secretary directed officials to conduct a resurvey of slums.
The Chief Secretary directed that eligible residents of Category 1 and Category 2 identified in the 2011-12 survey be regularized through a campaign with the help of local bodies and district magistrates. He directed that meetings of the district-level committees formed for slum redevelopment be held. Following this, a state-level meeting should also be held soon.
The Chief Secretary directed that the allotment of houses constructed in the Kathbangla project be completed by November 2025. He also directed the Secretary of Urban Development to continuously monitor this. He directed that the Secretary of Urban Development, the Secretary of Public Works Department, MDDA, and the Municipal Corporation should hold a joint meeting to decide on land identification, allotment rules, assessment, eligibility, and preparation of DPRs.
Secretary Nitesh Kumar Jha, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary Gaurav Kumar and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
