Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary held a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee regarding the proposals of the departments.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan convened a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee on Friday at the Secretariat to consider proposals from various departments. During the meeting, proposals from various departments were approved.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure that work related to the Nanda Rajjat Yatra is completed within the stipulated timeframe. He urged that all work be completed before the start of the Yatra.
While reviewing proposals related to the Sharda Ghat redevelopment, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of prioritizing indigenous materials for beautification and other works. He also emphasized the use of new technologies for projects related to the construction of the ghats, including minimal maintenance techniques. He stated that the walkways constructed on the ghats can be kept cool by planting grass and other natural materials.
The Chief Secretary stated that replacing foreign materials with indigenous materials would reduce project costs. If such materials are necessary, a logical justification should be presented to the committee.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary R. Senior officers of the concerned departments including Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey and Additional Secretary Dr. Ahmed Iqbal were present.
