Half yours, half mine! 1.5 crore rupees found in a vehicle during checking

SDO Pooja Pandey received information that a Creta car, numbered MH-13 EK-3430, traveling from Katni to Jalna, Maharashtra, contained three crore rupees. Upon receiving this information from an informant, she joined the operation with her gunman and staff. The vehicle was stopped at around 1:30 a.m. The money in the car was transferred to police vehicles.

The police divided it among themselves

On the morning of October 9th, the owner of the vehicle and his companions came to the SDOP’s office to lodge a complaint. According to reports, negotiations, or rather, bargaining, lasted for hours. Ultimately, a deal was struck on a half-yours-half-mine scheme.

The police kept ₹1.5 crore and promised to return the remaining money to the traders. The money was kept in the traders’ car. However, ₹25.60 lakh was found missing. The angry businessmen returned to the police station and created a huge ruckus. The commotion led to the media’s attention, bringing the entire incident to light.

10 Policemen Suspended

As soon as Jabalpur Range DIG Rakesh Singh learned of the incident, he immediately informed IG Pramod Verma. Following an investigation, 9 policemen were suspended on the night of October 9th. CSP Pooja Pandey was also suspended on October 10th.
