Kuldeep Yadav opens the scoring, West Indies fail to enforce follow-on, will have to bat again

West Indies’ batting failed once again against India. The second match of the Test series is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. West Indies’ first innings was reduced to just 248 runs in the second session of the third day. Batting first, India had scored 518 for 5. The Indian team gained a lead of 270 runs, meaning West Indies could not even enforce the follow-on. India enforced the follow-on, forcing Roston Chase’s team to bat again. Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets.
Kuldeep took three early wickets
West Indies resumed play on the third day at 140 for 4. Kuldeep Yadav bowled an opening spell, and the team benefited from it. He bowled key West Indies batsman Shai Hope. Hope went on to score 36 runs. Kuldeep then trapped wicketkeeper-batsman Tevin Imlach LBW. Kuldeep Yadav gave India their third breakthrough of the third day by dismissing Justin Greaves LBW. He scored 18 runs with the help of 3 fours.
The 9th wicket troubled India
Mohammed Siraj bowled Jomel Warrican to dismiss the West Indies’ 8th wicket. The score was 175 at the time. However, the West Indies pair of Khary Pierre and Anderson Phillip remained at the crease for the second time. They troubled the Indian bowlers considerably. They added 42 runs in the first session. However, Pierre was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah in the first over after lunch. He played an innings of 23 runs.
Kuldeep took the last wicket
The West Indies’ last wicket also troubled the Indian team. The pair of Anderson Phillip and Jayden Seals added 27 runs. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Seals to end the West Indies innings. This was Kuldeep Yadav’s 5th wicket. He took his 5th five-wicket haul in Tests for 82 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah each took one wicket.
