A very worrying case has emerged from Haldwani. It is being reported that a young man named Bablu, a resident of the Rajpura area, consumed poison due to alleged harassment and constant pressure from the police. His family has admitted him to Sushila Tiwari Hospital in critical condition.

The young man’s mother-in-law has filed a complaint with the Kotwali police regarding the matter. She alleges that the Rajpur police station police detained Bablu on October 5th on suspicion of theft. During interrogation, the officers assaulted him, after which he was released. However, according to the family, the police picked him up again on October 8th and beat him again.

Family members claim that injuries are clearly visible on Bablu’s body. According to the complaint, on October 10th, when the police informed him that he was being summoned to the police station again, he became mentally stressed and consumed the poisonous substance under this pressure. Family members rushed him to the hospital, where Bablu is currently undergoing treatment.

Given the seriousness of the matter, SP City Prakash Chandra has ordered an investigation. He stated that the investigation will be impartial and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. This incident has raised questions about the district’s policing.
