Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Diwali fair organized by the International Vaishya Mahasammelan on GMS Road, Dehradun, on Sunday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to Maharaja Agrasen and extended his greetings and best wishes for Diwali to the people present. He said that the festival of Diwali is a unique medium for infusing positive energy into all our lives, inspiring us to move from darkness to light and from evil to good.
The Chief Minister said that for centuries, the Vaishya community has been spreading the light of cooperation, harmony, and development throughout society, serving as the flag-bearer of Sanatan culture. The Vaishya community is a symbol of our nation’s economic, social, and cultural strength. The Vaishya community has always contributed generously to the protection of Sanatan Dharma and the expansion of social work. The Chief Minister said that through this fair, the International Vaishya Mahasammelan is not only encouraging trade, but also working towards social unity, promotion of indigenous products, and preservation of folk culture.
The Chief Minister said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while work is being done to preserve and promote our cultural traditions, concrete steps are also being taken towards realizing the dream of a self-reliant India through initiatives like “Vocal for Local,” “Make in India,” “Made in India,” and “Startup India.” Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, our government has successfully implemented several important schemes and policies in the state, ensuring its overall development. We have also taken several landmark decisions in the state’s interest. We were the first in the country to implement the “Uniform Civil Code.” Our government is also fully committed to preserving the cultural values and demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. We have taken strict action against this systematic land jihad in the state and freed over 9,000 acres of government land from land jihadists. We have demolished nearly 550 illegal shrines and removed two illegal mosques built by encroaching on forest land. Additionally, our government is taking strict action against hypocrites who defame the Sanatan culture in the state through ‘Operation Kalanemi’.
The Chief Minister said, “I urge all of you to embrace the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Country’ and use as many indigenous products as possible. Prioritizing indigenous products will not only empower our artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs, but also strengthen our resolve for a self-reliant India.” The Chief Minister said, “We are continuously working to fulfill our ‘no choice’ resolve to make Uttarakhand the leading state in the country. I am confident that all my family members from the Vaishya community will continue to work shoulder to shoulder with our government to fulfill this resolve, and together we will surely succeed in achieving this resolve.”
Vinod Chamoli, Khajan Das, Premchand Agarwal, Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, along with various public representatives, businessmen, and local residents were present at the event.
