A major political reshuffle has taken place in Gujarat. All ministers of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s cabinet have resigned. Reports indicate that all but the Chief Minister have resigned. The process for forming a new cabinet has already begun.
All ministers except the Chief Minister have resigned in Gujarat
The Chief Minister will meet Governor Acharya Devvrat tonight to stake his claim to form a new government. Reports indicate that the swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, October 17th, at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. Governor Acharya Devvrat will administer the oath to the newly appointed ministers.
10 New Faces to Be Included in the Cabinet Expansion
According to senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, approximately 10 new faces may be included in the cabinet expansion. Approximately half of the current ministers may be replaced. Currently, there are 17 ministers, including the Chief Minister, comprising eight Cabinet Ministers and eight Ministers of State.
Nadda is also arriving in Gujarat
This reshuffle within the Gujarat BJP comes at a time when Jagdish Vishwakarma was recently appointed the party’s new state president. BJP President JP Nadda is also arriving in Gujarat. It is being said that Nadda will be the final authority on this reshuffle.
