Uttarakhand: The Dhami government gave the gift of dearness allowance and bonus to state employees on Diwali, issuing an order for a maximum bonus of Rs 7000.

The Dhami government in Uttarakhand has given a significant gift to state employees for Diwali. The government has not only decided to provide dearness allowance to state employees, but has also issued an order regarding the Diwali bonus. Find out which employees will receive this benefit and when it will be implemented.

It should be noted that before Diwali, there was confusion among employees in Uttarakhand regarding the distribution of bonuses and dearness allowances. State employees were also expecting a Diwali gift from the government. Consequently, the government has now decided to provide employees with a bonus along with a dearness allowance, following which the government has issued a related order.

Who will benefit from the bonus: The state government has decided to provide ad hoc bonuses for the year 2024-25 to non-gazetted state employees, employees in charge of government departments, aided teachers, employees of technical educational institutions, local bodies, district panchayat employees, as well as daily wage employees.

An order has been issued to provide a bonus of up to ₹7,000 to state employees. This includes Group B non-gazetted employees, state-aided teachers, and Group C and D employees of technical educational institutions, local bodies, and district panchayats who are not covered by any productivity-related bonus scheme.

An order has also been issued to provide dearness allowance: This bonus will be given to employees who were in service as of March 31, 2025, and who have served for a minimum of six months by March 31, 2025. In addition to the bonus, the government has also decided to provide dearness allowance (DA). The government has issued a related order.

Under this, the monthly dearness allowance (DA) was approved at the rate of 55 percent on January 1, 2025, which has now been increased by 3 percent. Until now, employees were paid a 55% dearness allowance, and now, with a three% increase, a 58% monthly dearness allowance has been approved.

Not applicable to these: Notably, this will not apply to judges of the Nainital High Court, the Chairman and Members of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, or employees of public sector undertakings, unless separate orders are issued by the departments.

Four months’ arrears will also be paid: In the case of dearness allowance, arrears from July 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, will also be paid. From November 1, 2025, dearness allowance will be paid regularly along with salary. Thus, employees in the state will receive the benefit of dearness allowance starting July 1, 2025, including four months’ arrears.
