The Dehradun Cantt police station has arrested the absconding husband accused of murdering his wife. It is alleged that the husband had an argument with his wife after drinking alcohol. The wife pushed him. Enraged, the husband hit his wife on the head with a liquor bottle and a grinding stone, seriously injuring her.

The accused then took his wife to the hospital with the help of neighbors. The accused told them that his wife had slipped and was injured in the bathroom. The woman died during treatment, after which the police arrested the accused husband.

Police reported that on October 15th, Arjun Thapa, a resident of Pokhara Pratibha Marg, Nepal, filed a complaint at the Cantt police station. Arjun Thapa stated that his mother, Kopila Thapa, had been ill for a long time. His father had brought her to the Military Hospital, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun for treatment. He had rented a room in Dakra Bazaar, Garhi Cantt, as his mother was undergoing treatment at the Military Hospital, Garhi Cantt.

It is alleged that on the evening of October 12th, his parents had an argument over alcohol consumption. During the scuffle, his mother’s head hit a wall, causing her to faint on the spot. She was immediately taken to the Military Hospital for treatment, where she died from her head injuries. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Prem Bahadur Thapa at Kotwali Cantt. Following this, the police team took action and arrested the accused Prem Bahadur Thapa from the Cantt area.

Cantt Police Station in-charge Kamal Singh stated that the accused retired from the Army in 2007. His wife suffered from mental and other illnesses. Therefore, the accused came to Dehradun from Nepal for treatment after receiving free treatment at the Military Hospital through a CGHS card.

The accused stayed with his wife at the Military Hospital from September 5th to September 12th. Afterward, he rented a one-room set in Dakra Bazaar for Rs. 4,500 per month. On the night of October 12th, the accused and his wife had an argument over something after drinking alcohol.

It is alleged that the wife pushed the accused. Enraged, the accused hit his wife on the head with a liquor bottle, a glass, and a nearby stone (grinding stone) and pushed her. Her head hit the wall, causing her to faint.

The accused’s wife began bleeding profusely from the head. Alarmed, the accused first went to the bathroom to clean up the blood. Then, telling neighbors that his wife had slipped in the bathroom and was injured, he took her to the Military Hospital, Garhi Cantt, for treatment, where doctors declared her dead.

The accused then informed his family and others that his wife had fallen in the bathroom and died. He cleaned the blood from the walls of the house with water. The next day after the incident, the accused put the empty liquor bottle with blood stains, the broken glass and the stone grinding stone in a black plastic sheet and threw it in a garbage heap in the forest on Dakra MH Road. On the directions of the accused, the police team recovered the empty glass, broken glass and the stone grinding stone from the forest on Dakra MH Road.
