Uttarakhand: Students will soon get free books, the minister gave instructions

Uttarakhand School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting with the Education Department at his official residence today. He directed all districts to submit reports on free textbook distribution within a week. He also ordered the early start of the process of purchasing books for the next academic session.

Students to receive free books soon
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the government is providing free textbooks, exercise books, uniforms, school bags, and other study materials to children studying in government schools. The funds for uniforms and school bags are transferred directly to the children’s accounts, while the books are delivered to the schools by the department.

Director General of Education instructed to provide information within a week
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that during his field visits, he learned that books had not reached many remote schools on time. Therefore, he directed the Director General of Education to collect reports from all districts and submit the information within a week.

Children should receive books as soon as schools reopen: Minister
The Education Minister directed officials to begin the process of purchasing books for the new semester immediately so that all children can receive them as soon as schools reopen. He also directed them to review the selection of students under the Educational Tour Scheme and the reconstruction of schools damaged by the disaster.
