PM Modi and President Trump spoke on the phone; read about the issues discussed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a conversation on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Prime Minister Modi shared this information on the social media platform X.

Prime Minister Modi also thanked the US President for his Diwali greetings. PM Modi said that two great democracies are giving the world the light of hope.

PM Modi’s Post

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi wrote in his post, “Thank you to President Trump for his phone call and Diwali greetings.” He further wrote, “On this festival of lights, may our two great democracies continue to give the world the light of hope and remain united against all forms of terrorism.”

President Trump Extends Diwali Greetings

Earlier, US President Donald Trump extended his greetings to the Indian people on the special occasion of Diwali. During a Diwali event at the White House in Washington, he expressed his love for the people of India. He also praised Prime Minister Modi, calling him a great leader. He also stated that he had spoken to PM Modi over the phone.

Trump Celebrated Diwali

The US President celebrated Diwali at the White House. Prominent business leaders from the Indian community were also present. These included Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra, the new US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, FBI Director Kash Patel, and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard. Trump also extended his greetings to the people of India.

Trump has claimed to have spoken to PM Modi on a phone call before

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the US President has claimed to have spoken to PM Modi on a phone call. Earlier on October 16, the US President claimed to have spoken to PM Modi by phone. However, the Ministry of External Affairs clarified that there were no details about this phone call.
