The atmosphere on the country’s borders is once again tense. Following the success of Operation Sindoor, India is now preparing to showcase the combined might of its three armed forces: Army, Air Force, and Navy. It should be noted that a massive military exercise called “Ex-Trishul” is scheduled to take place in the border areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat from October 30th to November 10th. India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for this exercise. Pakistan also issued a NOTAM in its airspace shortly thereafter, clearly indicating that India’s military activity has unnerved its neighboring country. Experts believe that Pakistan fears India is prepared for a surprise retaliation. Therefore, it has imposed restrictions on its airspace in the name of security.

The exercise will include multi-domain operations such as satellite surveillance, cyber operations, and electronic warfare. For security reasons, civilian flights have been instructed to remain vigilant in the airspace of Jaisalmer and surrounding areas.

30,000 Soldiers to Participate

According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, this exercise will be one of the largest military exercises ever conducted. Approximately 30,000 soldiers, dozens of drones, missile systems, and state-of-the-art electronic warfare equipment will be involved. The exercise aims to enhance coordination between the three armed forces. This exercise is considered to be an important step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “JAI Vision” of Jointness, Self-reliance and Innovation.

Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth is leading the operation

Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, Commander of the Southern Command, is leading the operation. He says that future wars will be won not just with weapons, but with unified thinking and swift action. This is the objective of X-Trishul. Its scope will extend from Sir Creek and the Saurashtra coastal areas to the desert regions of Rajasthan. During this exercise, the Army will practice offensive ground operations and desert warfare tactics. The Navy will demonstrate amphibious operations off the Saurashtra coast, while the Air Force will reserve airspace up to an altitude of 28,000 feet to test missile and drone operations.

Pakistan has taken these steps

Following India’s NOTAM issuance, Pakistan has also closed air routes in its central and southern airspace.

According to geo-intelligence expert Damien Simon, Pakistan’s move signals fear of India’s preparedness. He said that while India has reserved airspace up to 28,000 feet, Pakistan has also restricted air routes under the pretext of military exercises or weapons testing.

Increased Vigilance After Operation Sindoor

During Operation Sindoor in May, India carried out precision airstrikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan, killing over 100 terrorists. Following this operation, the Defense Ministry made it clear that any cross-border activity would now be responded to with precise action. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh recently told soldiers in Jaisalmer that India would no longer simply respond but would also be prepared.

Appeal to the Public

The Indian Army has clarified that this exercise is purely routine and preventive in nature. The local administration and civil security agencies will maintain constant vigilance to prevent any inconvenience or accidents. Officials have appealed to the public to ignore rumors and follow administrative instructions during the exercise.
