The molestation incident involving Australian women cricketers in Indore has shocked and shamed the entire nation. On Thursday morning, two Australian players were walking from their hotel to a nearby cafe when a young man on a motorcycle groped them and fled. Upon receiving the information, police immediately swung into action. With the help of CCTV footage, hotel records, and witnesses, the police arrested the accused, Aqeel Khan.

They said, “CA can confirm that two members of the Australian women’s team were inappropriately groped by a motorcyclist while on their way to a cafe in Indore. Team security reported the matter to the police, who are handling the case.”

The incident occurred at 11 a.m. The players were on their way to the cafe. Then a young man on a motorcycle chased them. The young man touched the player inappropriately and then fled. Following the incident, the players immediately informed their security officer, Danny Simmons. Police examined CCTV footage and began questioning security personnel.

Accused Arrested
A passerby provided the motorcycle’s number to police, which helped in apprehending the suspect. Police arrested the accused, Aqeel Khan, on Friday. According to police, the suspect has several previous criminal cases against him.

Investigation Ongoing
Police officials said, “The suspect’s motorcycle matches the eyewitness’ description and number plate. Khan has previous criminal cases registered against him, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Regarding the incident, Madhya Pradesh State Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “This is not just mistreatment of a female athlete, but a stain on India’s image. Strictest action must be taken against those responsible so that no one dares to tarnish the country’s reputation in the future.”
