In fact, a road was constructed in Kothar village of Sidhi under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. However, instead of removing the hand pump, the road was laid around it. A boundary of iron pillars was also built to protect the hand pump.

Stairs were also built to descend, so that anyone who came to fetch water could easily climb down the stairs and reach the hand pump. A video of this unique engineering marvel is now going viral on social media.
