There’s great news for travelers traveling between Delhi and Dehradun. The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, being built at a cost of approximately ₹13,000 crore, is now nearly complete and in its final stages.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Reach Delhi in 2.5 Hours
The 12-kilometer-long elevated section from Datkali to Ganeshpur has been opened to traffic with six lanes. With this, the journey from Dehradun to Delhi can now be completed in just 2.5 to 3 hours, compared to the previous six to seven hours. A 340-meter-long tunnel and 12 mobile towers being installed along the route will provide improved convenience and seamless network connectivity for travelers.
Sound barriers installed in the forest area
The elevated route will be especially special because it passes through the forests of the Rajaji Higer Reserve and the Shivalik Forest Division. In addition, sound barriers have been installed in the forest areas to reduce noise, ensuring the environment and wildlife are not affected. This expressway will connect Delhi to Dehradun via Saharanpur, Baghpat, Baraut, and Shamli.
PM Modi May Inaugurate the Expressway
According to sources, PM Modi may inaugurate this expressway soon. Once it is operational, the connection between Uttarakhand’s capital, Dehradun, and the national capital, Delhi, will become faster, safer, and more comfortable than ever before.
