Good news for rail passengers in Uttarakhand. The Central Ministry has approved the Dehradun-Tanakpur Express to run three days a week. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has sent a letter of approval to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s persistent efforts and initiatives, the Railway Ministry has approved the proposal to increase the frequency of the Dehradun-Tanakpur Express. In a letter to CM Dhami, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav wrote that the Dehradun-Tanakpur Weekly Express has now been approved to operate three days a week.

Traveling from Dehradun to Kumaon will be easier for passengers
The Chief Minister stated that this decision is an important gift for the people of the state. Passengers from the Kumaon region will now have access to more convenient and regular rail service from Dehradun. He added that this decision will boost connectivity and tourism between Kumaon and Garhwal, as well as boost economic and social activities.

CM Dhami expressed gratitude
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government is continuously supporting Uttarakhand in achieving new heights of development.
