Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Traffic diversion due to two processions, see route plan

Two processions will be held in the city on October 31st to mark the occasion of Prakash Parv and the Shri 1008 Shri Majjindra Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav. Traffic diversions will be in effect in some areas due to these processions. Dehradun Police have provided information about the routes and alternative routes, urging people to use two-wheeled vehicles whenever possible and to take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. Let’s explore the route plan.
Dehradun Shobha Yatra Route Diversion Plan: Traffic plan for the Shobha Yatra to be held on the occasion of Prakash Parv
The first procession will be held on the occasion of Prakash Parv from 1 pm to 6 pm. Its route will be:
- Shobha Yatra Route: Gurudwara Patel Nagar – Saharanpur Chowk – Lakkhi Bagh Police Post – Darshani Gate – Dhamawala – Paltan Bazaar – Darshanlal Chowk – Buddha Chowk – Subhash Road – ending at Gurudwara Shri Nanak Niwas, Subhash Road, Dehradun
- During the procession, the procession will move on the left side of the road, while traffic will continue on the right side. If necessary, traffic will be diverted from Patel Nagar Mandi, Lalpul, Balliwala Chowk, and Saharanpur Chowk.
- Upon arrival of the Shobha Yatra at Saharanpur Chowk, traffic coming from Patel Nagar Mandi/Kanwali Road will be partially diverted from Balliwala. Traffic will be diverted from Saharanpur Chowk.
- Once the Shobha Yatra fully enters the Darshani Gate, traffic will be restored from all directions.
- As the Shobha Yatra moves from Ghantaghar towards Darshan Lal, traffic coming from Chakrata Road will be diverted towards Orient Chowk. Traffic going from Orient Chowk towards Ghantaghar will be diverted.
- When the Shobha Yatra reaches Darshan Lal Chowk, traffic coming from Tehsil Chowk will be diverted towards Ghantaghar, and traffic coming from Lansdowne Chowk towards Darshan Lal Chowk will be diverted towards Kanak Chowk.
- When arrival of the Shobha Yatra at Buddha Chowk, traffic coming from Doon Chowk will be diverted towards Darshan Lal Chowk. Additionally, traffic arriving at Buddha Chowk from Cross Road will be diverted via Manoj Clinic towards CJM Tiraha.
- After the Shobha Yatra passes Darshan Lal Chowk, traffic from Lansdowne Chowk will be diverted towards Darshan Lal.
- After the Shobha Yatra passes Buddha Chowk, traffic from Manoj Clinic and Buddha Chowk will be diverted towards Cross Road.
- Traffic will be intermittently released from MKP Chowk during the Shobha Yatra. No traffic will be diverted from CMI/Racecars Chowk towards MKP Chowk.
- Traffic will be restored once the Shobha Yatra enters the Gurudwara.
Second Shobha Yatra Shri 1008 Shri Majjindra Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav Shobha Yatra Route Plan
The second Shobha Yatra will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM as part of the Shri 1008 Shri Majjindra Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav. The route will be:
- Shobha Yatra Route: Panchayati Mandir Jain Dharamshala – Aadhat Bazaar – Saharanpur Chowk – Jhanda Bazaar – Kotwali – Paltan Bazaar – Sarnimal Bazaar – Dhamawala – Sarafa Bazaar – Pipal Mandi – Raja Road – Prince Chowk – Panchayati Mandir Jain Dharamshala
- When the Shobha Yatra departs from the Panchayati Mandir, traffic going from Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk will be diverted to Tyagi Road.
- When the Shobha Yatra reaches Aadhat Bazaar, no traffic from Prince Chowk will proceed towards Saharanpur Chowk, and traffic going from Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk will be diverted to Haridwar Road.
- When the Shobha Yatra reaches Saharanpur Chowk, traffic coming from Patel Nagar Mandi/Kanwali Road will be partially diverted through Balliwala. Traffic will be diverted from Saharanpur Chowk.
- Once the Shobha Yatra fully enters Jhanda Bazaar, traffic will be restored from all directions.
- When the procession moves from Raja Road to Prince Chowk, traffic from Prince Chowk toward Tehsil Chowk will be diverted via Chandan Nagar Cut to Doon Chowk.
- When the procession moves from Prince Chowk toward Panchayati Mandir, traffic from Prince Chowk toward the railway station will be diverted via Tyagi Road to Saharanpur Road.
