Achieving a remarkable milestone on the global academic stage, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) made a significant leap, advancing from the 103rd rank held earlier to an impressive 80th position globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026, announced today.

This impressive upward rise reflects JMI’s unwavering commitment to interdisciplinary research, academic innovation, scientific advancement, and international collaborations. The achievement bears testament to the university’s growing global impact and its strategic focus on continuous quality enhancement across key academic domains.

Expressing immense pride in the achievement, Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, said, “JMI’s high rank in the THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026 reflects the university’s impressive performance and commitment to inculcating cutting-edge and multidisciplinary research that combines teaching and innovation imaginatively, which went into making it emerge as a global leader. Our researchers, scientists, and highly rated faculty members have contributed tremendously to global scientific progress by constantly being at the frontiers of their disciplines, bringing in new ideas, and fostering innovation. I congratulate the entire university on this tremendous accomplishment at the global level.”

Prof. Md.
