The Army Chief reviewed the passing out parade at the IMA, and the country received 491 brave military officers; Nishkal Dwivedi received the ‘Sword of Honour’

The historic passing out parade of the IMS concluded. The Officer Cadets wowed everyone with a spectacular parade on the grounds of the Indian Military Academy’s Chetwood Building. Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, took the salute. As per academy tradition, the passing out cadets paraded on the grounds. This was followed by the Piping Ceremony and the First Step, marking their entry into the Army as officers.

The Sword of Honour was awarded to Niskal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal went to Badal Yadav. Kamaljeet Singh received the Bronze Medal. Mohammad Ashraf of Bangladesh was named Best Friend Country Cadet.

Major awards: The Sword of Honour and Gold Medal (First in Merit) were awarded to ACA Niskal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal (Second Place) went to BUO Badal Yadav, and the Bronze Medal (Third Place) went to SUO Kamaljeet Singh. Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujit Sampat was awarded the Silver Medal for standing first in merit in the Technical Graduate Course, and WCC Abhinav Mehrotra was awarded the Silver Medal for standing first in the Technical Entry Scheme-46.

Officer Cadet Sunil Kumar Chhetri received the Silver Medal for the Special Commissioned Officer Course. JUO Mohammad Safin Ashraf of Bangladesh received the First Merit Medal among foreign cadets. The Chief of Army Staff Banner was awarded to the Imphal Company for the best overall performance in the Autumn Term 2025.

With the 157th Course, the Indian Military Academy has once again strengthened its proud tradition of producing officers who lead the nation with courage, professional competence, and unwavering dedication.

IMA Passing Out Parade: The dreams cherished by 491 young men of the country have now come true. After a long period of hard work, discipline, and rigorous training, these young men have passed out from the Indian Military Academy, fully prepared to serve the nation.

For these young men, who passed every test of physical, mental, and leadership ability during their training at the academy, this moment was the proudest moment of their lives.

491 Military Officers Gained by the Nation: A total of 525 officer cadets passed out from the academy this year. This includes 491 Indian cadets as well as 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly countries. This is yet another testament to the credibility and trust of the Indian Military Academy internationally. Like every other batch, this batch is departing the academy, making history by taking the oath of service to the nation.

Army Chief of Staff Salutes the Parade: Significantly, the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, was present at the passing out parade this year. He inspected the parade and accepted the salute from the cadets. The Army Chief’s presence made the ceremony even more special and prestigious.

Tightened Security Around the IMA: Security arrangements were tightened in and around the academy for the passing out parade. Army personnel were deployed within the academy campus, while police forces were also deployed extensively in the outlying areas. Security agencies remained on high alert to deal with any possible disruption.

Traffic diversion beyond Premnagar: Meanwhile, traffic plans were also altered in view of the parade. Traffic diversions were implemented on the route leading to the academy from Premnagar onwards. A large number of people had arrived to witness the POP, so the administration had already established alternative routes to avoid traffic jams.
