An Afghan national has been detained by an RPF (Railway Protection Force) team at the railway station in the Gangnahar Kotwali area of ​​Roorkee. He had been living illegally in India for the past four years.

Afghan national apprehended while searching for chain-pulling suspect
Late Sunday evening, the Bandra Express was passing through Roorkee railway station when an unknown person pulled the emergency chain, causing the train to stop. The RPF searched for the person who pulled the chain, but they could not be found. During this search, the RPF team found an Afghan national acting suspiciously and took him into custody.

The RPF team handed over the man, identified as Najibullah, to the Gangnahar Kotwali police. The Gangnahar Kotwali police arrested Najibullah and registered a case against him. The police also recovered a mobile phone, Rs. 1200 in cash, and some other items from him.

Interrogation of the accused continues
The police and intelligence teams are currently interrogating Najibullah. SP Rural Shekhar Chandra Suyal stated that an Afghan national has been arrested, identified as Najibullah, son of Haji Bismillah, a resident of Kandahar.

Accused was living illegally in India for 4 years
It is reported that Najibullah had been living illegally in India for the past four years. According to the police, Najibullah had been living and studying in Deoband, Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, since 2018. A case has been registered against Najibullah, and he has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
