Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday regarding the revenue collection status for the financial year 2025-26. In the meeting, the CM gave clear instructions to focus on increasing revenue collection. He also expressed displeasure over the delay in the collection of the green cess.

Instructions given to prevent tax evasion using AI
The CM emphasized the maximum use of AI-based technology for effective control over tax evasion. He instructed that all work related to registration and land records be completely digitized. He also directed that Sub-Registrar offices be regularly inspected by District Magistrates and senior officials. The CM clarified that the correct value of the property should be recorded during registration, and if necessary, on-site inspections of properties should be conducted to verify this.

The CM expressed displeasure over the delay in the collection of the green cess from vehicles registered outside the state. He instructed the Transport Department to immediately begin collecting the green cess. He also emphasized the proper utilization of forest resources in the state’s interest, keeping environmental protection in mind. CM Dhami also instructed the preparation of a concrete and practical plan for commercial plantation and medicinal plant cultivation in the Terai regions.
