Haridwar police have launched a unique and commendable initiative, combining road safety and cow protection. Under this special campaign conducted in the Jwalapur Kotwali area, reflector collars were placed around the necks of stray cattle and other animals to increase their visibility on the roads, especially during dense fog and at night.

Road Accidents Due to Fog in the Plains
In fact, during the winter season, the number of road accidents increases in Haridwar and other parts of the plains due to fog. Often, drivers become victims of accidents because animals suddenly appear on the road. Keeping this problem in mind, this special campaign was launched under the direction of the Superintendent of Police.

Reflector Collars Tied Around the Necks of Stray Animals
The Jwalapur police identified stray animals roaming in the area and placed bright reflector collars around their necks. These collars will make the animals visible from a distance even in darkness and fog, giving drivers time to react and reducing the likelihood of accidents. Local residents have openly praised this initiative by the police.
