Uttarakhand: Vigilance nabs Block Education Officer demanding bribe of Rs 20,000, teacher also arrested

In a major action, a vigilance team from Dehradun arrested Bahadrabad Block Education Officer Brijpal Singh Rathore and teacher Mukesh for demanding a bribe of 20,000 rupees. The vigilance action caused a stir in the education department. The wife of the arrested Block Education Officer is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Dehradun. She has also previously been posted in Haridwar.

According to the information, on Thursday, the Dehradun Vigilance team, while taking action against bribe-taking officers, arrested Bahadrabad Block Education Officer and in-charge Principal of Mongolpur Shyampur Mukesh red-handed while accepting bribe. The accused were demanding a bribe of twenty thousand rupees under the pretext of issuing the recognition certificate of Police Modern School. Let us tell you that the accused Brijpal Rathore was about to be promoted to the post of District Education Officer. His wife is also posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Dehradun district. She has also held the post of CO Sadar in Haridwar.
