The recent tragic accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura has shocked and distressed everyone. Around 19 people lost their lives in the accident, and many others were injured. The accident was so horrific that among the 15 bodies recovered, some were found with only a skull, others with just an arm bone, and some with only a leg. In some cases, only a single bone fragment was recovered.
Following this gruesome scene, the biggest challenge for the police is identifying the bodies. The families are pleading with the authorities to somehow help them recover the remains of their loved ones.

Following the accident, the police have collected DNA samples from the deceased. These will be matched with samples from their families. This entire process will take at least 15 to 30 days.

The samples have been sent to the forensic science laboratory in Agra. It is hoped that the remains can be identified through DNA analysis of the bone marrow and tooth pulp.

According to Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory, the police have sent DNA samples of 19 people. The investigation may take one to two weeks. It is expected that identification will be possible using DNA from the bone marrow and dental pulp of the remains.
