Leopard found hanging upside down from a tree in Haridwar
According to the villagers, one of the leopard’s legs was caught in a branch of a poplar tree, causing it to hang upside down for about five to six hours. The leopard thrashed around continuously due to the noise and commotion of the crowd below. Fearing a mishap, the villagers immediately informed the forest department.

Forest Department team did not arrive on time
However, it is alleged that despite being informed, the forest department’s rescue team did not arrive at the spot for several hours. This delay caused considerable anger among the villagers. The situation became even more serious when some villagers, eager to see the leopard up close, started obstructing the rescue operation.

Leopard rescued after a difficult operation
Despite repeated warnings from the forest department team, people continued to get dangerously close to the leopard. After much effort, the forest department team administered a tranquilizer injection to the leopard. The tree was then cut down, and the leopard was safely brought down and rescued in a cage.

Leopard reported to be safe
After the rescue, the leopard was taken to a safe location in a forest department vehicle. Surprisingly, hundreds of villagers followed the caged leopard until the vehicle left the village, as if it were some kind of spectacle. The crowd dispersed only after the vehicle left the village. The leopard is currently reported to be completely safe.
