Uttarakhand: The driver, who had hit a woman during her morning walk and fled the scene, has been arrested by the police in Jaipur

The police have arrested the driver who hit and fled after striking a woman who was out for a morning walk on Rajpur Road on December 14th. The woman, who was seriously injured in the accident, later died during treatment.
SSP Ajay Singh said that Pawan Kumar Gupta, a resident of Jakhan, had filed a complaint stating that his wife was out for a morning walk when an unknown vehicle hit her between Amma Cafe and Sai Temple on Rajpur Road, and the driver fled the scene. The seriously injured woman was admitted to Max Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Rajpur police station registered a case against the unknown driver and launched an investigation. The SSP formed an investigation team led by Rajpur Station House Officer Pradeep Rawat. The police gathered information about the vehicle and the accused with the help of CCTV cameras installed near the accident site. The car was recovered on December 18th.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused, Anmol Yadav (22 years old), a resident of Kutalwali, Johri village, Jakhan, had fled to Jaipur and switched off his mobile phone. The police team reached Jaipur on Sunday and arrested Anmol. The SSP said that the accused has been brought back to Dehradun and will be produced in court on Monday.
