Uttarakhand / Dehradun: By welcoming the procession of the Christian community before Christmas, the Congress party sent a message of harmony

A procession taken out by followers of Christianity in the capital city of Dehradun ahead of Christmas Day was warmly welcomed by the Congress party. Congress state media in-charge Rajiv Maharshi, General Secretary Rajendra Shah, and former city president Lalchand Sharma greeted the members of the Christian community participating in the procession with bouquets of flowers and extended their advance Christmas wishes.
On this occasion, Rajiv Maharshi said that India’s greatest strength lies in its religious diversity, mutual brotherhood, and cultural unity. The festivals of all religions convey a message of love, compassion, and harmony in society, and it is the responsibility of all of us to promote this together. He said that the Congress party has always been a staunch supporter of the respect and rights of all religions, communities, and sections of society. State General Secretary Rajendra Shah, while welcoming all those participating in the procession, said that this community has always been peace-loving and has consistently played a leading role in the education and development of India. Former city president Lalchand Sharma said that the people of this community and the Congress party have always supported each other. The community has always stood by all sections of society in their joys and sorrows.
During the procession, an atmosphere of peace, discipline, and enthusiasm prevailed throughout the city. The members of the Christian community also expressed their gratitude for this welcoming gesture from the Congress leadership.
The Congress party extended its Christmas greetings to the people of the state and called for further strengthening mutual harmony and brotherhood. Congress leaders Vipul Nautiyal, Yashpal Chauhan, Amit Masih, Madan Mohan Kohli, and many other party workers were present on this occasion.
