It is alleged that after the dispute, his mother, Jethi Devi, and his sister-in-law called his elder brother, Poorab Singh, who works in a hotel in Mumbai, back to the village. Late Friday night, as soon as Poorab Singh arrived in the village, the three of them together attacked Angrez with knives and other sharp weapons.
Son writhed in pain
The attackers repeatedly struck Angrez Singh’s hands, causing the bones to protrude. It is also alleged that he was attacked with a knife on his throat. Severely injured, Angrez Singh lay in the village from night until noon, writhing in unbearable pain. Later, his brother Poorab Singh took him to the Baleshwar Community Health Center in a 108 ambulance.
Both hands had to be amputated during treatment
After primary treatment at the Baleshwar hospital, doctors, citing his critical condition, referred Angrez Singh to Srinagar Base Hospital. There, doctors described his condition as extremely critical and had to amputate both his hands to save his life. He was discharged from the hospital the following day after treatment.
Victim files case against family members
After the incident, Angrez Singh somehow returned to the village on Monday and filed a case against his family members on Tuesday. The police have registered a case based on the victim’s complaint. The victim says he never imagined that his own family members would do such a thing to him.
