Uttarakhand: CM Dhami flagged off the mobile medical unit vehicles under the “Rural Garhwal Comprehensive Health Service Project”

On Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off mobile medical units from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office under the “Rural Garhwal Comprehensive Health Service Project.” This project has been initiated by Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dehradun, inspired by the Chief Minister’s vision.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to ensuring that people are not deprived of healthcare services due to geographical or economic reasons. This initiative will make it easier to provide timely and quality medical facilities to remote villages. This is a commendable effort towards ensuring primary healthcare facilities, free testing, consultations, and medicines in remote and inaccessible rural areas.
The first phase of this project has been launched in Chamoli and Tehri Garhwal districts, where two fully equipped mobile medical units have been deployed. These units will provide general medical services, more than 29 free pathology tests, free distribution of medicines, eye examinations, health consultations, and referral services. A doctor will be present in each mobile unit. These units will visit villages, towns, schools, and markets at scheduled times to provide medical services. Coordination will be maintained with district officials for this purpose.
