Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the construction of a multi-level car parking facility on enemy property land in Metropole. A ​​car parking facility for approximately 600 vehicles will now be constructed on this land. This will solve the car parking problem in Nainital in the future. Beautification of the Metropole area and the construction of an elevated road will also be undertaken. During this time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Nainital city is important from a tourism perspective, and a large number of tourists from India and abroad visit here. They faced difficulties due to the lack of parking and other facilities. Now, with the construction of the parking facility, tourists will benefit. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated other projects worth Rs 131 crore.

Following this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Winter Carnival being held in Nainital. The Chief Minister said that according to the instructions and inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘One District One Festival’ program is being held across the state. In this context, promoting winter tourism is a priority for the government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘One District One Festival’ initiative will strengthen the tourism business in Uttarakhand throughout the year, benefiting tourism entrepreneurs.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a total of 13 development projects in Nainital at a cost of Rs 121 crore 52 lakh 46 thousand. On this occasion, the Bhoomi Pujan was also performed for the much-awaited Metropole Surface Parking project, which will cost Rs 42 crore 77 lakh 31 thousand. The Chief Minister inaugurated 2 projects worth Rs 30 crore 66 lakh and laid the foundation stone for 11 projects worth Rs 90 crore 86 lakh 46 thousand.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also inaugurated a project worth Rs 29 crore 16 lakh for developing Sukhatal Lake as a recharging zone and tourist destination. This project includes the construction of two lakes, duct construction, installation of an aeration plant, construction of 9 shops, a toilet block, a lift and transit building, and a pedestrian path around the lake. Structural strengthening and renovation work will be carried out on the library building at the Government Girls’ Inter College (Kaladhungi Road) in Haldwani at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for these projects:

  • Rs. 63 crore – Construction of a pre-stressed motor bridge on the Dunikhal-Ratighat Padli motor road in the Betalghat area
  • Rs. 3 crore – Automated mechanized multi-level parking in Nainital Tallital (capacity for 202 four-wheelers and 96 two-wheelers)
  • Rs. 57 crore – Multi-storey parking on the old Tehsil land in Ramnagar (capacity for 343 vehicles and 16 shops)
  • Installation of servo voltage stabilizers at two locations in Ramnagar under the DMF scheme at a cost of Rs. 29-10.29 lakh
  • Rs. 57 lakh – Lift irrigation scheme in Amel village of Betalghat
  • Rs. 23 lakh – Repair and construction work in 4 schools of Haldwani assembly constituency
  • Rs. 4 crore – Repair and construction work in 14 schools and 1 Anganwadi center of Lalkuan assembly constituency
  • Rs. 8 crore – Works related to schools, roads, CHC and sub-centers in Kaladhungi assembly constituency
  • Rs. 22 lakh – Repair work in 4 schools of Ramnagar assembly constituency
  • Rs. 82 lakh – Construction of a river crossing cable at Danijala on the Gaula River

During this time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all these projects will play a significant role in strengthening the infrastructure of Nainital district, expanding tourism facilities, creating employment, and improving public amenities. He instructed the officials to complete all the work in a timely manner and with high quality.
