Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Winter Carnival being held in Nainital after six years will give new energy to the tourism business here. The state government is working on a plan that will provide year-round employment to people through tourism. The Chief Minister reiterated that encroachment with colorful sheets will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand under any circumstances.
Before participating in the Nainital Winter Carnival on Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while interacting with journalists at the Metropole complex, said that tourists from India and abroad visit Nainital. The long-standing parking problem in the city will be resolved after the construction of parking facilities at the Metropole. He added that the development works worth ₹121 crore will give a new direction to the development of the district.
Regarding winter tourism, he said that the government is working on a plan to provide year-round employment to the people of the state through the tourism business. To promote tourism, One District One Festival events are being organized, and positive results are already being seen.
The government is committed to continuously strengthening basic public amenities in the state and providing the benefits of government schemes to the last person in line. The Chief Minister also directed that strict verification drives be continued to improve law and order and curb unruly elements.
Speaking from the Winter Carnival stage at night, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the achievements of the state government and presented his future vision. Expressing concern over the increasing demographic changes in the state, he said that the government is taking effective steps to stop it. Land jihad, love jihad, and spitting jihad will not be tolerated in the state. Encroachments made with colorful sheets will be removed.
The government is determined to preserve the original character of Devbhoomi (Uttarakhand). Responding to a question about the accused fleeing across the border after thefts in Nainital district, the Chief Minister said that the government and administration are working on this at every level. He directed that extensive verification drives be conducted in all districts, including border areas, to maintain law and order.
