The Uttarakhand Police has been lauded for two significant achievements: securing the first position in the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) 2.0 rankings and the commendable role of the Uttarakhand SDRF in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025. In the monthly ICJS rankings, the Uttarakhand Police has secured the top position nationwide.
The Uttarakhand Police has once again demonstrated its leading role in digital policing and the modernization of the justice system. In the monthly ranking of the CCTNS/ICJS progress dashboard report published by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the Uttarakhand Police has performed exceptionally well, securing the first position across the country. This achievement is a result of the state police’s technical expertise, its ability to quickly adopt new systems, and the coordinated efforts of all districts in the state.
The Union Home Ministry has set a target of fully implementing ICJS 2.0 by 2026, under which states are required to integrate police, courts, prosecution, prisons, forensic, and fingerprint databases onto a single digital platform. Uttarakhand has made remarkable progress in this direction, completing the integration of most modules ahead of schedule.
In the recently released ICJS 2.0 rankings, Uttarakhand has secured 93.46 points. Haryana secured the second position with 93.43 percent marks, and Assam came in third with 93.16 percent marks. Through the implementation of ICJS 2.0, the key modules have been successfully integrated across all districts, enabling case diaries, charge sheets, digital evidence, and judicial processes to be coordinated on a single digital platform. Training of police officers has expedited investigation and prosecution work. Furthermore, a robust coordination has been established between various systems, including CCTNS, e-Courts, and e-Prisons, under the concept of “One Data, One Entry.” At the special request of the Uttar Pradesh government, a company of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was deployed for Mahakumbh duty to ensure safe, orderly, and uninterrupted operations amidst the crowds of millions of devotees during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025. Under the leadership of the SDRF Commandant, a 112-member SDRF team performed exemplary duty with complete dedication, discipline, and promptness from January 24 to February 27 in the Sangam area and other highly sensitive zones, providing water rescue, first aid, assistance to missing devotees, coordinated rescue operations, and other essential services.
For this service and commendable contribution, the Uttar Pradesh government honored all the officers and personnel of the Uttarakhand SDRF with medals and certificates of appreciation. On this achievement, the Director General of Police (DGP) congratulated all the officers and personnel of the Uttarakhand Police, including the CCTNS team, stating that this success is the result of collective effort, technological innovation, and continuous monitoring.
He said that the effective implementation of ICJS 2.0 will make the investigation process more transparent, time-bound, and evidence-based, giving new momentum to the justice system. The Uttarakhand Police is paying special attention to the extensive use of the advanced modules of ICJS 2.0, which will further strengthen the digital justice system in the state. The DGP also extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the officers and personnel of the SDRF for their outstanding, disciplined, and dedicated services during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025.
